Families who are struggling to afford diapers are closer to seeing some relief via a sales tax exemption, thanks to the inclusion of Senate Bill 57, sponsored by Sen. Mary Elizabeth Coleman, R-Arnold, onto House Bill 594 and 508, which passed the Senate on April 7 and is headed back to the House of Representatives for final approval.

On March 4, I presented Senate Bill 276 in the Senate Education Committee. This bill further protects minors from accessing pornography and other explicit materials. Currently, public schools and libraries are required to take certain actions to prevent minors from accessing obscene materials on a public access computer. Senate Bill 276 adds charter schools and digital library resources to these provisions of law.
