SB 444 - This act makes two changes to the office of the Lieutenant Governor. The first change is to allow the Governor to fill a vacancy in the office of Lieutenant Governor by appointment.

The second change is to allow the Lieutenant Governor to sit on any board or commission that has a vacancy for purposes of a quorum until a permanent replacement has been appointed. The power requires the consent of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor and the Senate.

The Lieutenant Governor may designate an employee to attend such board or commission meeting on his or her behalf.
