No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.


DESCRIPTION

This bill requires the Governor to appoint a person to serve as Lt. Governor if a vacancy occurs. The bill also makes changes regarding the duties of the Lt. Governor. The bill:

1) Allows the Lt. Governor to sit as a replacement member on all boards and commissions that have vacancies for the purpose of a quorum until a permanent replacement has been appointed by the Governor;

2) Allows the Lt. Governor to designate an employee to attend and participate on the Lt. Governor's behalf in any function created by law for which membership is statutorily authorized; and

3) Prohibits the Lt. Governor from working for additional pay in any position in the executive branch.
