Sen. Bob Onder’s Bill Streamlines Licenses for Military Spouses

This week, I presented Senate Bill 560, which supports military families by giving military spouses the chance to quickly obtain a license to practice their chosen profession. Shockingly, while our unemployment rate is 3.5 percent and employers are begging for workers, the unemployment rate among military spouses is 33 percent, often because their job is one that requires a state license.

Here I am presenting the bill on Tuesday in the Missouri Senate Veterans and Military Affairs committee. Please click on the link above to learn more about this important legislation and I will keep you appraised of its progress through the 2020 session.

As always, thank you for your interest in our work at the State Capitol. I look forward to discussing some of the important issues affecting our state and our community in my next report.  It is an honor and a privilege to serve you in the Missouri Senate!

Very Sincerely,

Robert F. (Bob) Onder, Jr.
