JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Bill Eigel, R-Weldon Spring, is proud to congratulate Carolyn Schlueter, a resident of the 23rd Senatorial District, on winning third place in the AAA Midwest Traveler magazine’s 2019 Photo Contest.
Schlueter’s winning photo, taken just before Christmas, depicts golden sunlight striking an array of headstones in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. She calls the photo “God’s Light.”
“It’s always great to see the artistic talent we have here in the 23rd Senatorial District, and even more so when that talent is being used to convey an important message,” Sen. Eigel said. “Carolyn’s picture honors the heroism and sacrifice of the many service members buried at Jefferson Barracks. I am thrilled to see her work being recognized.”
Schlueter’s photo was published alongside other contest winners in the magazine’s July/August 2019 edition.
