Senator Crawford’s Weekly Capitol Report, for the Week of Jan. 22: Moving Through the Legislative Session

Crawford---CapReport

It is hard to believe, but we have completed the first month of the legislative session. I was fortunate to have Senate Bill 623 approved by the Missouri Senate Insurance and Banking Committee this week. My proposal would modify provisions relating to tax sale proceeds. Also this week, Senate Bill 806, which seeks to modify various provisions regarding guardianship and conservator proceedings, was heard in the Seniors, Families and Children Committee. I look forward to discussing both of these measures on the Missouri Senate floor.

In addition, lawmakers gathered to hear the annual State of the Judiciary address from the Chief Justice of the Missouri Supreme Court, Zel Fischer. This is always an enlightening time for those of us in the Legislature to learn more about the judicial branch and how we can help improve the lives of all Missourians.

I am honored to serve as your Senator in the Missouri Senate. If, at any time, you have questions, concerns or ideas regarding state government, please feel free to contact me at (573) 751-8793 or Sandy.Crawford@senate.mo.gov.
