Senator Crawford’s Capitol Report for March 12

Crawford---CapReport

On Tuesday, March 6, I visited several former colleagues, when I presented Senate Bill 623 to the Missouri House of Representatives Financial Institutions Committee. This measure would reform the state law regarding surplus proceeds from tax foreclosure sales. I am hopeful this legislation will be discussed on the floor of the Missouri House in the near future.

Also, I was also able to amend Senate Bill 977 to another senator’s legislation. Senate Bill 977, which is now a part of Senate Bill 627 and 925, makes it illegal to misrepresent a product as meat, when it is not derived from harvested livestock or poultry. This measure has been given Missouri Senate approval, and now moves to the Missouri House of Representatives for further consideration.

Also, we have reached the halfway mark of the 2018 legislative session. With 10 legislative weeks behind us, nine weeks of session remain before we reach the end of the 2018 legislative session on Friday, May 18.

With the number of visitors our office receives from our community, I encourage you to call my office at (573) 751-8793, ahead of your visit to schedule an appointment so we have an appropriate amount of time to meet.
