Following the Governor’s Felony Indictment, Senator Nasheed Calls on Speaker of the Missouri House to Begin Impeachment Process
Jefferson City – State Sen. Jamilah Nasheed, D-St. Louis, today called on the Speaker of the Missouri House of Representatives to begin the impeachment proceedings of the governor following his indictment for felony invasion of privacy.
“The governor has to go,” said Sen. Nasheed. “Missourians thought they voted for a person of character and integrity, and instead they got a liar and alleged criminal. I am calling on the Honorable Speaker of the Missouri House of Representatives to immediately begin the impeachment process so that the people of Missouri can move forward.”
Under Missouri law, the process to impeach the state’s governor must begin in the Missouri House of Representatives.
