Nominate Someone You Know for the Lieutenant Governor’s Senior Service Award

Do you know an outstanding senior citizen in your community? If so, then I encourage you to nominate them for the Lieutenant Governor’s Senior Service Award, which recognizes seniors whose service and dedication to their communities has made a positive difference. Enacted in 2005, the award is an excellent way to show Missouri’s senior citizens that their many and varied service efforts are greatly appreciated.

Nominees must be at least 60 years old and have volunteered a minimum of 25 hours in their community over the last year. Each award winner will receive: an official declaration from the lieutenant governor, a Senior Service Award lapel pin and individual recognition at the Senior Service Award banquet at the Capitol.

To nominate a deserving senior, you will need to fill out a brief form, which can be found at your local Senior Center or Area Agency on Aging office. You may also access the form at www.ltgov.mo.gov. All nominations must be received by March 29, 2017. Winners will be announced April 1, with the banquet to follow on April 24. For more information, call (573) 751-4727 or email ltgovinfo@ltgov.mo.gov.
