JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Mike Cunningham, R-Rogersville, discusses an update on budget talks for Fiscal Year 2018. He serves on the Missouri Senate Appropriations Committee. Senator Cunningham also talks about a new report that puts Missouri near the bottom of the list on several key points, and how tort reform legislation currently debated — such as Senate Bill 43, which would modify the law relating to unlawful discrimination — could improve that rating. He also discusses why he opposes Senate Bill 257, a measure that seeks to allow telephone companies to select an alternate method of property tax assessment.
