JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Ed Emery, R-Lamar, discusses Senate Bill 43, which seeks to make changes to the law relating to unlawful discrimination. The measure has been sent to the Missouri House of Representatives. He also talks about the Missouri Nonpartisan Court Plan, in relation to the three finalists chosen to fill an opening on the Missouri Supreme Court. Senator Emery also discusses Senate Joint Resolution 5, which he sponsors. His proposal would — upon a vote of the people — require the Missouri Senate to try all impeachments, except for the impeachment of the governor, to be tried by the chief justice of the Missouri Supreme Court.
