JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Ed Emery, R-Lamar, discusses Senate Bill 237, which was given Missouri Senate approval this week. The measure seeks to modify definitions of “employee” and “physician employee” in actions against health care providers for personal injury or death. He also talks about Senate Bill 190, legislation that would modify provisions relating to ratemaking for public utilities. His proposal awaits full Missouri Senate debate. Senator Emery also discusses Senate Bill 141, which would modify retirement benefits for newly elected members of the General Assembly and statewide elected officials. This measure was heard in the Missouri Senate Health and Pensions Committee this week.
