JEFFERSON CITY — The Missouri House has given approval to House Bill 2017 and House Bill 2018, which relate to state funding for two capital improvement projects in the 21st District. Under the approved budget plan, Rock Island Trail State Park and Little Otter Creek Watershed are both set to receive funding in the coming year for maintenance and improvement projects.

“I am thrilled that these two important projects will be receiving state support,” Senator Pearce said. “Residents of the 21st District will benefit from these projects for many years to come.”

Rock Island Trail State Park will receive $4.6 million to complete the construction of the 47-mile rails-to-trails path the park will follow. Construction is expected to be complete in 2016. Little Otter Creek is set to receive $2 million in state funding, which will be allocated for the construction of a 362-acre lake as well as for environmental mitigation efforts mandated by state and federal agencies.
