SCS/SB 596 - This act authorizes New Madrid, New Madrid County, Stoddard County, Bloomfield, Caruthersville and St. James to enact tourism taxes of between 2% and 5% to be added to the cost of sleeping rooms paid by transient guests. These taxes will also applies to campgrounds and docking facilities.

This act is similar to HCS/SB 936 and a similar provision also appears in SCS/HB 1659.
