Senator Brian Williams was elected to the Missouri Senate in 2018 and represents the 14th Senatorial District in St. Louis County.
Senator Williams grew up in Ferguson, Missouri, and is currently the first black male to serve in Missouri Senate in two decades.
Studying government and public health policy led Sen. Williams to pursue a career in public service. After graduating he went on to work for several years in the U.S. Congress as a congressional staffer and oversaw the rollout of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace in Missouri as a Congressional ACA Coordinator.
Senator Williams also serves as a board director for People’s Health Center where he helped develop a behavioral healthcare center for children in underserved communities. Senator Williams also serves on the advisory board for Simmons Bank, iHeart Media, the St. Louis Crisis Nursery and the Nurses for Newborns board.
