Senator Nick Schroer Files Remonstrance Calling for Investigation of Circuit Attorney’s Conduct

JEFFERSON CITY – On Feb. 23, State Sen. Nick Schroer, R-St. Charles, filed a remonstrance asking the Missouri Chief Disciplinary Counsel to thoroughly investigate allegations of misconduct by the St. Louis circuit attorney. The remonstrance is in response to a tragic vehicular accident in which a teen bystander sustained serious injuries from a crash involving a person who was released on bond for a prior offense.

“I am angry and embarrassed that an innocent girl has had her life changed forever, and the acts of the circuit attorney may have played a role,” said Sen. Schroer. “The evidence of negligence and mishandling of hundreds of cases is mounting. I believe it is time for the circuit attorney to resign or be removed from office.”

A remonstrance is a signed document which serves as a condemnation of a particular action or person. Each member of the majority party signed Sen. Schroer’s remonstrance.
