Senator Barbara Anne Washington Selected to Attend White House State Legislative Convening on Reproductive Rights

Jefferson City — State Sen. Barbara Anne Washington, D-Kansas City, issued the following statement about attending the White House State Legislative Convening on Reproductive Rights on June 14:

“I am humbled to be invited to attend this important convening of legislators to discuss state-level attempts to restrict what I believe are basic reproductive rights on the one-year anniversary of the Dobbs decision. Gathering with policymakers from other abortion-opposed states and learning about their efforts to protect and expand access to reproductive care was an educational experience, and I look forward to sharing the highlights with my colleagues in Jefferson City. Representing and defending women’s rights in this fashion is an honor and a privilege. I sincerely hope the information we learn and resources we disseminate will help restore these vital health care rights to women in the Show-Me State.
