The 2023 regular legislative session has come to an end, and I am proud to have several priorities on the governor’s desk. We tackled some important issues for my district and the state of Missouri, and I believe we found a good compromise on many items.

Senate Bill 101 regulates lender-place insurance on real property, specifies that aircraft casualty insurance be considered commercial insurance for the purposes of a certain exemption, and it also privatizes the Missouri Employers Mutual Insurance Company.

Senate Bill 103 modifies provisions relating to the statewide court automation system, which is better known as Missouri Case net. It also includes another one of my bills relating to pooled estate accounts by public administrators and venue in guardianship and conservatorship cases. Also, Senate Bill 337 modifies provisions relating to electronic notifications to victims of certain crimes.

Senate Bill 180 was added to another bill, which authorizes the cities of Clinton and Lincoln — by the vote of the people — to impose a sales tax to improve public safety.

Future Capitol Reports will highlight other important bills from the 2023 session.

I am looking forward to being home, seeing family and traveling the district this summer to visit with constituents before returning to Jefferson City for the annual veto session in September.
