- Prepared by Senate Research -

HB 499 - Currently, it is unlawful for a non-incumbent candidate to publish, circulate or distribute any material or recording that would lead voters to believe that the candidate is an incumbent, and an election authority is required to seize any such items. This act removes the requirement by providing that the election authority may seize such items.
