HB 0368 (Truly Agreed) Modifies method of setting salaries for department directors and revises requirements for payment of certain expenses
Bill Summary
- Prepared by Senate Research -

SCS/HB 368 - Beginning in FY 2001, the salaries of department directors and the members of the Board of Probation and Parole would be set by the Governor within salary ranges set by the Personnel Advisory Board. The members of the Board of Probation and Parole appointed prior to August 28, 1999 would continue to receive the salary set by statute.

The Governor, by written order, may grant leave for up to twenty-five full-time equivalent employees to participate in specialized disaster relief services within the state.

The legislative per diem is clarified and judges should be reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses when attending the annual Judicial Conference.

The act also provides that when the General Assembly increased salaries by statute, that increase becomes effective in the fiscal year beginning after the effective date of the change unless there is a specific appropriation for that purpose before such time.

This act is similar to SB 404.
