HB 271 - This act requires the disclosure of the HIV infection status of an individual who has exposed a health care worker or a law enforcement officer to blood or other bodily fluids in the course of the worker's or officer's employment. Disclosure may be made by the Department of Health to the health care practitioner caring for the worker or the officer and, subsequently, to the worker or officer, if necessary. Any further disclosure of HIV status is a Class A misdemeanor.

This act is substantially similar to SCS/SB 477.
