SB 421 - This act modifies the qualifications for adjutant general and assistant adjutant general of the State National Guard.

Currently such qualifications require a minimum number of years military service (10 years for adjutant general and 4 years for assistant). Under this act, both the adjutant general and assistant adjutant general must be a federally recognized:

-Army or Air National Guard major general of the line; -Brigadier general of the line; or -Qualified to be appointed to brigadier general of the line.

The adjutant or assistant adjutant general is removed from office when federal recognition terminates.
