SB 286 - This act provides a pop-up provision for Public School Retirement System (PSRS) retirees who chose a reduced- benefit survivor option without a pop-up provision. Current survivor options in Section 169.070, RSMo, provide an automatic pop-up provision. Prior to SB 378 from 1995, survivor options were available with or without a pop-up provision, and the monthly benefit was greater for the options without a pop-up provision.
This act is similar to SB 985 from 1998 and is identical to
HB 83 from 1999.
