SCS/HB 1352 - This act applies only to Kansas City. It adds a subsection to Section 89.120 and increases the penalties for violations of zoning regulations in Kansas City. The maximum fine is increased from $100 per day to $500 per day. Imprisonment of 10 days for each day the violation continues is now authorized for first offenses, where current law only allows it for willful violations. For first offenses, only a fine or imprisonment may be imposed.

For the second and subsequent offenses involving the same violation at the same building the penalty will be a fine of $250 to $1,000 per day or by imprisonment for 10 days for each day the violation continues or by both fine and imprisonment.
