SCS/HB 1300 - This act has two changes pertaining to motor vehicles. Temporary license plates issued by a dealer or the Department of Revenue shall be good for 30 days from the date of vehicle purchase. Current law allows for 20 days, and one of the time limits runs from the date of issuance.

Lienholders are required to release their liens in motor vehicles within 15 days after satisfaction of the lien. A penalty of $500 is provided, and other information must be supplied, upon request, by the lienholder to the vehicle owner.

The act is effective on January 1, 1999.
