SCS/HB 1043 - This act prohibits any state entity from publicly disclosing any Social Security number unless the disclosure is permitted by federal law, federal regulation or state law.

Exceptions are made for a disclosure which is authorized by the holder of the Social Security number or when the disclosure is to be used in connection with court proceedings.

"Publicly disclose" and "State Entity" are defined in the act.

When responding to any requests for public information pursuant to Chapter 610, RSMo, any costs incurred by any state entity complying with provisions of this act may be charged to the person requesting the information.
