Current Bill Summary

SB 848 - This act expands the civil immunity for volunteers of organizations. More organizations are included in the law, and volunteers transporting the elderly are immune from negligent actions if they fulfill three conditions: (1) the minimum financial responsibility requirements of section 303.025, RSMo, have been met; (2) the volunteer acted in good faith and within the scope of his services; and (3) the damage or injury was not caused by the intentional or malicious conduct or the negligence of such volunteer.

This act is similar to SB 172 from 1995.
