Current Bill Summary

SB 558 - This act permits the county commission in third classification counties to set speed limits, which are lower than those set by state law, on county roads outside of any city, town or village. Currently, this section (49.267) only grants this authority to the county commission in second class counties.

All revenue from traffic fines shall be placed in the County School Fund. County speed limit signs must be furnished by the county and be in a form approved by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Department.
