HCS/SB 385 - At the present time, Section 173.239, RSMo, provides for National Guard member scholarships to an approved public institution. This act would permit these scholarships to be used at approved private institutions.

Anyone receiving a scholarship under Chapter 173, RSMo, may postpone attendance at an institution to enter Missouri National Guard service or participate in Missouri National Guard programs for up to two semesters without losing eligibility for the scholarship, provided that they take certain steps to retain scholarship eligibility.

This provision is similar to HCS/SB 207.
