Current Bill Summary

SB 19 - This act requires the juvenile court to prepare a monthly list of the types of offenses, age and punishment or disposition of juvenile offenders. This list shall be a public record and shall not contain the names of any juvenile offender.

If a juvenile is a repeat offender of offenses which would be criminal if done by an adult, the juvenile court shall order a report containing the name and address of the juvenile offender, the names and addresses of the parent(s) or guardian(s) of the juvenile offender, the acts committed by the juvenile offender, the age of the juvenile offender, and the punishment or disposition on each offense. The names of the juvenile or parent(s)/guardian(s) may be omitted from the report upon a finding that this would be in the best interests of the juvenile or in the interest of justice. Subsequent to the court review, this report shall be a public record.
