SJR 37 - Current law provides that initiative petitions proposing constitutional amendments shall take effect when approved by a simple majority of the votes cast thereon prior to taking effect. This constitutional amendment, if approved by the voters, requires such initiatives to be approved by at least 60% of the votes cast thereon.

This joint resolution is identical to a provision in SJR 2 (2021) and substantially similar to a provision in HCS/HJRs 20, et al (2021) and SJR 31 (2020).
