SB 1098 - This act repeals the requirement that salary schedules adopted by a school district's board of education apply to all teachers in the district and allows boards to include differentiated placement of teachers on the salary schedule. Districts may annually review and modify hard-to-staff subject areas and schools, and are prohibited from placement of any teacher on a schedule that would result in a salary demotion.

This act is similar to a provision in HCS/HB 1770 (2022), a provision in HCS/HB 2652 (2022), and a provision in SB 1206 (2022).
