SB 1101 - This act provides that any person convicted of a domestic violence misdemeanor or subject to an order of protection shall not be eligible to possess a firearm and such an offense shall have a stepped up penalty. This act establishes an "extreme risk order of protection" which shall be granted when a person is found to pose an extreme risk to themselves or others. Upon issuance of an extreme risk order of protection, a person subject to the order of protection shall surrender any firearms in his or her possession until the order of protection has expired or is removed. A person who possesses a firearm while subject to an extreme risk order of protection shall be guilty of a Class C felony. This act makes the possession of a bump-stock a class D felony. MIKE WEAVER
