SB 872 - This act prohibits the use of expiration dates or service fees on gift certificates. Abandoned or unused gift certificates shall not be subject to state unclaimed property provisions and shall not become the property of the State Treasurer. Violations of the act shall be considered unfair marketing practices subject to certain unlawful merchandising practice penalties. This act is identical to SB 371 (2009) and similar to SB 76 (2007) and SB 685 (2006). ERIKA JAQUES
