SB 736 – This act requires school boards to adopt policies for the random testing of students participating in interscholastic athletics for the unlawful use of a controlled substance, including but not limited to anabolic steroids. A student who tests positive for the unlawful use of a controlled substance or anabolic steroids shall not be allowed to participate in interscholastic sports or intramural sports for the remainder of the academic year or the next academic year. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education shall promulgate rules to implement this section. MICHAEL RUFF
