SB 985 - Under this act, a person commits the crime of making a false declaration by providing a verbal false statement that he or she believes or knows not to be true with the purpose of misleading a public servant during a criminal investigation. Making a false declaration is a Class B misdemeanor. This act is similar to SB 922 (2008). SUSAN HENDERSON MOORE
