SCS/HB 822 - The act adds language that prevents political subdivisions from adopting ordinances prohibiting amateur radio communications equipment from interfering with the reception of broadcast radio or television signals.

This act requires orders and ordinances of political subdivisions to comply with the limited preemption of the Federal Communications Commission Amateur Radio preemption order and other applicable federal regulations. Any order or ordinance relating to amateur radio antennas must be reasonable and minimal in nature.

Political subdivisions are also not prohibited from taking action to protect or preserve historic or architectural districts.
