| HB 1967 (Truly Agreed) | Modification to St. Louis County Boundary Commission statutes |
HCS/HB 1967 - This act makes several technical changes concerning the St. Louis County Boundary Commission. The changes include:
(1) Correcting sectional references;
(2) Deleting obsolete language related to a 1999 moratorium;
(3) Abolishing the old Boundary Commission language;
(4) Correcting reference to a third class city;
(5) Correcting certain dates.
In addition, the act allows fire protection districts within St. Louis County to contract for fire protection services for a fee with any municipality or village that does not operate its own fire department or does not receive protection from another district. The fire protection district and the municipality shall agree to the terms by ordinance. If the contract is for a period longer than 5 years, it is not binding until ratified by a majority of the voters in the fire district and the municipality. If the fire protection district is authorized to provide ambulance service within its district, then it may also provide ambulance service to the municipality. This portion of the act is similar to SB 842.
The act has an emergency clause.
