HB 1374 - This act permits counties and St. Louis City to impose by ordinance before January 1, 2001, a fee on the issuance of marriage licenses. It also allows a surcharge on any case filed in circuit court, not just in cases of divorce or separation, as is present law. The surcharge shall be waived if other court costs are waived or paid by the State or any subdivision. The fund shall be used to support shelters for victims of domestic violence abuse.
