Current Bill Summary

SJR 34 - This act, upon voter approval, would allow any committee to file a petition with an election authority to re- elect an incumbent in the state Senate or state House of Representatives who is otherwise ineligible due to term limits. If the district is located in more than one county, the petition shall be filed with the county clerk of the county with the greater population. The number of signatures on the petition must be at least 10% of the total votes cast for that office in the last election.
