SCR 27 - The SCR urges the 106th Congress of the United States to expand the U. S. Department of Agriculture's role in evaluating agribusiness mergers and acquistions.
Also, the SCR asks Congress to provide additional resources to expand the Grain Inspection, Pakers and Stockyards Administration to monitor and investigate structural changes in the meat packing industry and to provide protections for the live poultry dealers.
SCA 1 - REQUESTS THE U.S. DEPT. OF AGRICULTURE TO FORM A TASK TO REVIEW AND RECOMMEND CHANGES IN THE PACKERS AND STOCKYARDS ACT.
