SB 811 - This act amends two provisions regarding parental liability for damages caused by their children. Currently, a court may order a juvenile or that juvenile's parent to make restitution to the victim of an offense committed by the juvenile, but the restitution is limited at $4,000. The act increases this amount to $50,000.

The parent or guardian of any unemancipated minor (excluding foster parents) against whom a judgment has been rendered for intentional destruction of property shall be liable for payment of the judgment up to $50,000. This amount is currently limited to $2,000.
