SB 769 - This act changes the administrative hearing process
within the Kansas City police department. The bill would allow a
hearing officer to gather evidence in a hearing, instead of the
current process where the police board holds a hearing. The
hearing officer must submit a report to the police board within
30 days of the hearing. The act also allows appeals from
decisions of the board.
