Current Bill Summary

SB 653 - This act transfers control over St. Louis City's police board and election board from the Governor to the Mayor. Current law requiring "advice and consent of the Senate" for appointments to these two boards are changed to "advice and consent of the Board of Alderman". All other restrictions concerning political parties, bonds and office staff are unchanged.
