SB 626 - This act establishes a distribution formula for state aid to community colleges. The formula is a two-tiered formula:
1) First, each district receives sixty percent of its 1999- 2000 funding amount as a base level of funding; then
2) The remaining appropriated amount is distributed to all districts on an full-time equivalent (FTE) enrollment basis.
This new formula will be phased in based upon increased
appropriations, and the act guarantees each district will receive
no less revenue (per FTE student) under the new formula than the
district received from state aid in the 1999-2000 school year.
