December 2014 – In the last episode of Missouri Legislative Update for this year, we highlight new leadership in the Senate and House. Joseph Keaveny, D-St. Louis, and Sen. Brian Munzlinger, R-Williamstown, to discuss their new leadership roles and various issues regarding the Legislature.

June 2014 – This month, we highlight the last day of the legislative session with reaction from House and Senate leadership. We also take a look at several high-profile Senate bills passed this session. Also, Missourinet’s Bob Priddy sits down with House Speaker Tim Jones, R-Eureka, and Sen. Paul LeVota, D-Independence, to discuss various issues regarding the Legislature.

May 2014 – In this episode of Missouri Legislative Update, the General Assembly overrides the governor’s veto of Senate Bills 509 & 496, legislation designed to cut taxes for individuals and small businesses. Lawmakers also finalize Missouri’s operating budget for Fiscal Year 2015 and pass a measure allowing families to use hemp oil as a means to treat epilepsy. Also, Missourinet’s Bob Priddy discusses this year’s budget process with House Budget Vice Chairman Tom Flanigan, R-Carthage, and Senate Appropriations Committee member Sen. Scott Sifton, D-Affton.

April 2014 – This month, the Senate passes legislation that would authorize revenue bonds to fund updates on buildings and projects across the state. The House approves measures relating to a transportation sales tax and education standards. Plus, in a display of bipartisan support, lawmakers approve legislation to streamline Missouri’s criminal code. Also, Missourinet’s Bob Priddy sits down with Senate Minority Floor Leader Jolie Justus, D-Kansas City, and House Judiciary Chair Rep. Stanley Cox, R-Sedalia, about the legislative process of streamlining statutes regarding crimes and punishments in Missouri. We also highlight a recent Memorial Service paying tribute to former members of the Missouri Senate who have passed.

March 2014 – In our third episode this year, we highlight the Senate’s work during the first half of the legislative session and the House’s version of the FY 2015 state operating budget. Plus, Missourinet’s Bob Priddy talks with Sen. Brad Lager, R-Savannah, and House Minority Floor Leader Rep. Jacob Hummel, D-St. Louis, about various legislative issues and the first half of session. Also, the Mizzou football team stops by the State Capitol.

February 2014 – This month, we highlight legislation passed by the Senate relating to firearms and higher education funding, and bills dealing with tax reform and prescription drug monitoring approved by the House of Representatives.
