Senator Sandy Crawford's Capitol Report for the Week of April 8, 2024

Thursday, April 11, 2024

    April 11, 2024

April typically means “budget time” in the Missouri Legislature, and this year is no different. On April 4, the Missouri House of Representatives passed its version of the state’s spending blueprint for Fiscal Year 2025. Next, the Missouri Senate Appropriations Committee will start looking at the budget bills, then the full Senate will approve its version. Following this, Senate-House conference committees will hammer out any differences. The budget has to be sent to the governor’s desk no later than 6 p.m. on Friday, May 10.
