Current Bill Summary

HCS/SB 773 - This act changes dates relating to the Certificate of Need law. The date at which the Missouri Health Facilities Review Committee can begin to again issue certificates of need is extended from July 1, 1999 to April 30, 2000.

The act also requires the notification of a facility's representation in the General Assembly of any facility violation or act of noncompliance.

The act also creates a pilot project through the Division of Aging to provide the elderly who suffer from Alzheimer's disease or dementia with enhanced and specialized care through no more than 6 specially developed care facilities. Three of these facilities shall be newly constructed. All of these facilities shall be exempt from the Certificate of Need law.
