Current Bill Summary

SCS/SB 735 - This act pertains to professional engineers.

The term "engineer in training" is changed to "engineer intern".

A professional engineer licensed in Missouri may apply to the Missouri Board for Architects, Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors for inactive license status. If inactive status is granted to a licensee, a licensee may return to active status by notifying the Board in advance of such intention, and by paying all fees as determined by the Board, and by meeting established requirements.

If an inactive licensee does not maintain a current license in another state for a five-year period immediately before requesting reinstatement, that individual may be required to take the Principles and Practice of Engineering Examination.

Each architect, professional engineer and professional land surveyor must have a personal seal and shall place the seal on all final documents as set out in this act. The personal seal shall be the legal equivalent of the licensee's signature.

Nothing in section 327.411, RSMo, or in any rule or regulation of the Board shall require any professional to seal preliminary or incomplete documents.
