Current Bill Summary

SB 519 - This act allows the private placement of signs on the highway right-of-way for museums and historic sites. Cities may designate an advisory board to determine whether museums are eligible under this act.

The act also specifies the categories for the logo sign program along the highway right-of-way. Five categories are specified, but two may be combined. This requirement is subject to federal law, and the Highways and Transportation Commission is required to apply for an experimental sign program.
